Change in the economy is challenging us to
think differently about life's priorities. Families are being forced
to make difficult choices between food, shelter, clothing, and
healthcare to make ends meet. PTA continues to advocate for healthcare
for children and networks with affiliate organizations to offer
extensive resources to meet the needs o f life's priorities at home,
school and beyond. As the oldest children's
advocacy organization, PTA has a rich history of providing
services and support for children, families, schools and communities,
and influencing legislation to improve education, health and safety.

Georgia PTA's 2009-2011 theme is
"Back to Basics: A Road Map for PTA Success!"
Our focus will be to emphasize the basic
principles around which PTA was organized and to advocate for “every
child with one voice”. We will accomplish this by:

Spotlighting alternative ways to provide the arts, music, physical
education and foreign language in spite of
budget cuts, as we did before they were provided in the schools,
|
|
Modeling, as a
grassroots organization, how to do more with less and investing
in our children, our parents, our leaders and our community.
|
PTA is sustained by dues revenue. Your
membership makes it possible for us to support programs for children,
training for parents and leaders, scholarships, brochures and other
written resources, literature, posters, customer service, our
headquarters, website and much more.
